Tornar a la Home

Montserrat and Món St Benet have united in order to present their rich legacy in two different ways which allow visitors to discover the links which have, for over a thousand years, connected these two monasteries. We offer you two completely different routes:

the Benedictine monastery route
Discover a thousand years of shared Benedictine history, as we follow the monasteries from yesteryear to the present. Món Sant Benet offers a museum visit to its different spaces, from the church to the midday galleries, with special emphasis on those features which highlight the era when it was dependent upon Montserrat. At Montserrat, the guided visit examines the different areas of the Sanctuary precinct as well as taking in the exhibition “Montserrat, behind closed doors”, where the most significant areas of the monastery can be found, and where the everyday life of a modern monastic community can be observed.

Ramon Casas and modernism route
The Modernist painter, Ramon Casas is one of the best-known links between Montserrat and Sant Benet de Bages. Here you can discover the life and works of the artist as well as the social and cultural context of the day. At Món Sant Benet you can explore the private world of Ramon Casas with a visit to the rooms in the monastery which he and his family made into their summer home. At Montserrat you can visit the fantastic collection of modern art containing some of the most important works by Casas and other key artists who influenced his work.
