Without a doubt, the medieval was the period with great plenitude for el Monestir. It was then when the benedict abbey was funded with Romanesque character where the church stands out, built between the XII and XIII centuries and the cloister.

Later, during the XIV and XV centuries, the construction of the new premises started in el Monestir around the entrance area (Patio de la Cruz). The Palau de l'Abad and La bodega stand out.

The different premises of the complex still keep the legacy of monastic life lived within el Monestir and that lasted until 1835.
